And as a result, customers contract additional consulting services to help expedite their existing case load. The GrayKey Consult licensing option is only available for consulting organizations or experts that assist law enforcement agencies in managing digital forensics activities in order to expedite investigations.

The GrayKey Consult online licensing option also requires that the GrayKey device be connected to the Internet in order to conduct the mobile extraction. Proof of legal authority is a mandatory requirement in order to utilize GrayKey Consult, with the requirement to upload documentary evidence of authority before each use.
PRODUCT USE
GK Consult is offered to private sector, court-authorised, consultants/experts and forensic service providers… for use on law enforcement related case work only, and with proof of authority for that person/company to undertake the examination of that specific device. The UI of GK Consult will prompt the end-user to upload a PDF document to Grayshift detailing that authority e.g. a signed letter from court/judge/prosecutor/law enforcement, a case submission document, etc. If that document contains any personally identifiable information related to the device owner (e.g., suspect, victim, etc.), that data should be redacted before uploading.
